Saturday, July 27

‘It’s now or never’
Get ready for the annual jam under the stars — this year to the tunes of Bon Jovi — with the Dartmouth Police Relief Association.
The concert will be held on Saturday, July 27 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the UMass Dartmouth amphitheater and will feature kids activities, food trucks, beer and wine cash bars and Bon Jovi songs performed by Livin’ On A Bad Name.
Tickets are $10 for adults and free for kids 16 and under. Tickets will be available at the door or in advance at the Dartmouth Police Station at 1390 Tucker Road. Parking is free and attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets.
The gates will open at 5 p.m.

Padanaram Fest
Get ready to shop and be entertained at the annual Padanaram Summer Festival on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.
Dozens of vendors will line Elm street in Padanaram village selling all manner of hand-made goods, arts and crafts.
This year’s event will also bring back the Kids Zone, which is where youngsters can set up tables and sell hand-made crafts, just like the grown-ups.
The Kids Zone will be in a new location this year, located at the Milbury parking lot on the corner of Bridge and Elm Street. For more, see Page 14.

Have a ball
Milbury and Company Real Estate Brokerage is hosting its first annual dog show at its parking lot, located at 304 Elm Street, on Saturday, July 27, starting at 1 p.m.
There will be prizes and awards will be given across several categories, including biggest, smallest, naughtiest, best dress and most handsome dogs.

Book signing
Join Mel Yoken, chancellor professor emeritus at UMass Dartmouth, for a book signing of his two latest books, “A History of Letters,” on Saturday, July 27 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Barnes and Noble in Dartmouth.
The two volumes, which have achieved critical success, take readers on a journey through the rich tapestry of epistolary communications, exploring the fading tradition which is the art of letter writing. Yoken not only chronicles the evolution of letters throughout history but also celebrates their enduring legacy in an age dominated by digital communication.
