Three local students receive James M. Karam scholarship
Three Dartmouth students received $5,000 through the James J. Karam Scholarship.
The scholarships went to Tiago Boia, who is a senior at UMass Dartmouth studying marketing, Heather Cachia, who is a sophomore at UMass Dartmouth studying interior architecture and design and Lucas Bastista, a junior at UMass Boston studying economics and anthropology.
This scholarship was created in 2013 by its namesake James J. Karam to recognize and award South Coast students who attend UMass schools.
“Each year we are impressed with the achievements of these inspiring and talented scholars. It’s always an incredible reminder of how transformative a UMass education really is,” Jim Karam said in a statement.
