Tifereth Israel to host “Welcome to Judaism” courses
Tifereth Israel Congregation will be hosting “Welcome to Judaism” classes, a four-semester introductory course designed for a variety of adults with a desire for knowledge of Judaism. Topics will include history, Bible, beliefs, holidays, practices, Israel, and more.
This course, provided at no charge, will meet for eight one-hour sessions per semester, on Monday evenings at 7 pm, for a total of 32 sessions. The four semesters will occur in the Spring 2016, Fall 2016, Spring 2017, and Fall 2017. The first session is scheduled for March 21.
The course is designed for members of the greater New Bedford/Dartmouth community, both Jewish and non-Jewish, who would like to get a better understanding of the Jewish religion, culture, and history.
It also provides Tifereth Israel members who feel they can use a greater introduction to Judaism.
Registration is required for this course. Interested parties should register with the synagogue office at office@tinewbedford.org or 508-997-3171. For further information, contact Kenneth Turkewitz, 508-997-3171.
