Town Moderator Melissa E. Haskell is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Dartmouth  Finance Committee. The successful candidate will complete the unexpired term of a  former member, which runs through the end of the Spring Annual Town Meeting in June 2027. 

The Finance Committee plays an advisory role in town government, reviewing budgets,  warrant articles and other financial matters that come before Town Meeting. While  knowledge of municipal finance can be helpful, it is not required. The committee  benefits from a wide range of life experiences and skill sets. 

“I’m looking for someone who is thoughtful, open-minded and willing to collaborate with others to serve the best interests of the Town,” said Haskell. “You don’t need to be a financial expert — just someone who cares about our community and wants to contribute.” 

Haskell noted attributes that make a strong Finance Committee member include a willingness to learn, a collaborative spirit and a commitment to positive, respectful engagement with fellow board members, other town committees and the public.
