Trick-or-treating fun in Dartmouth
As Halloween came to an end on Onyx Drive, Joshua, Tyler, Emma, and Alicia Machado hurried home to count their loot. The four had spent the past hour and a half out trick-or-treating in their neighborhood, and were already enjoying the spoils of the night.
While the kids went trick-or-treating, Karyn Machado manned the door at her home, handing out over five bags of candy to trick-or-treaters throughout the night.
“It’s very close-knit here,” Machado said. “If you leave the light on trick-or-treaters just keep on coming.”
Off of Tucker Road, the adults enjoyed Halloween too. Linda Lefkowitz — owner of Dartmouth-based Balloontastic Events — drew inspiration from Seattle-based balloon entertainer Steve Jones, and created a full-body Minion costume entirely out of balloons.
Stephanie Campbell marked the holiday by going all out on making her homes as spooky as possible. Campbell’s home featured a haunted graveyard and skeletons, while a projector displayed scary scenes.
“The kids love it,” Campbell said. “We do it every year.”
Campbell added that it took her two hours to decorate, but that she wasn’t finished. In her rush after work, she was only able to decorate half of her home, leaving many of her ornaments unused this year.
