Police arrested two residents at their Dartmouth home on Wednesday following a narcotics investigation.

Nicholas Azeredo, 33, and Tanya Gaudreau, 31, were arrested after detectives located 7.6 grams of suspected Fentanyl and a small amount of crack cocaine at 553 Dartmouth Street on August 2, police said.

Azeredo was charged with possession of both substances, and with intent to distribute Fentanyl.

“I am very proud of the efforts put forth by my detectives in getting not only this dangerous narcotic off of the street, but also the person responsible for its distribution,” said Acting Chief Brian Levesque via press release.

Gaudreau was arrested on a separate warrant.

The investigation was led by Dartmouth Detective Derek Souza. The Bristol County Sheriff's Department assisted the Dartmouth Police with the arrests.
