UMass Dartmouth virtual food security summit

UMass Dartmouth’s Leduc Center for Civic Engagement will be hosting a virtual food security summit with state senator Mark Montigny on Tuesday, September 8 at 7 p.m.

The longstanding issue around access to food has been brought to the forefront during the Covid-19 pandemic. At the summit, a panel of local advocates featuring Senator Montigny and members of Project Bread and the Marion Institute will discuss the region’s response.

UMass Dartmouth Acting Chancellor Mark Preble, President of Project Bread Erin McAleer, and panelists from the Marion Institute’s SouthCoast Food Policy Council will also be speaking at the virtual event.

South Coast residents are encouraged to attend. Registration is required.
