UMass Dartmouth’s Claire T. Carney Library will host a book club meeting with a twist on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m.

The meeting, which will discuss the national best-seller “Ashes,” will feature a special guest appearance from the author himself: Westport native Steven Manchester.

Manchester is the author of #1 bestsellers “Twelve Months,” “The Rockin’ Chair,” “Pressed Pennies,” and “Gooseberry Island.”

The meeting will be held in the library’s Great Reading Room. Parking is available on campus in Lot 13.

The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will follow a Q&A and book signing.
