Unidentified man injures clerk during Cumberland Farms robbery

An unidentified man injured a clerk at a Cumberland Farms gas station near Bliss Corner while committing an unarmed robbery in the early hours of Thursday, July 14, police said.

The man, described as a thin black male of about 30 or 40, reportedly reached over the counter and took money from the store register, injuring the clerk as he tried to stop him.

After taking an undisclosed amount of money, the robber fled the store and was last seen running towards New Bedford. Police, who responded to the call at approximately 2 a.m., were unable to locate the perpetrator.

The store clerk was transported to the hospital to be treated for a hand injury.

Dartmouth Police are still reviewing video of the incident.
