Virginia (Mascarenhas) Ferreira, 69
Virginia (Mascarenhas) Ferreira, 69, passed away on Friday, January 27 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of Eurico N. Ferreira with whom she shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late John and Regina (Coelho) Mascarenhas. She lived in Dartmouth for the past 35 years. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Bristol Community College.
Virginia worked as a lab technician at St. Luke's Hospital for more than 40 years until her retirement in 2014. She loved to cook, read, watch mystery movies, and spend time with her loving family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors in addition to her husband are a daughter, Kimberly Ferreira of New Bedford; a son, Erik Ferreira of Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Jada, Erika, and Camron Ferreira of Dartmouth; three brothers, John H. Mascarenhas of Florida, Joe Mascarenhas and his wife Gladys of Minnesota, and Peter Mascarenhas of New Bedford; her beloved dog, Jessey, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.
Private funeral arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road.
