Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society presents a virtual lecture from Rev. Pam Cole on the town’s roots of faith, called “The Second Great Awakening” via Zoom on Sunday, Oct. 4 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

When the country was young, new churches sprang up all over America and in Old Dartmouth, reflecting the wave of religious fervor known as “The Second Great Awakening.”

Rev. Pamela J. Cole illustrates her talk on this subject with rare photographs of local religious communities from newly-founded American denominations in the early United States.

This is the fourth lecture in the series “Dartmouth has Roots of Faith” presented by Rev. Cole, a member of the DHAS board.

During her 49 years of ministry here, Rev. Cole researched local church history while serving as a pastor, an adjunct professor of history at Bristol Community College, a radio commentator on local religious news and a member of Dartmouth Community television’s Dartmouth Wanderers.

Interested parties need to register for the Zoom meeting by emailing Daniel@DartmouthHAS.org. A return email will provide connection instructions.
