The South Coast Bikeway Alliance is holding a virtual workshop on Tuesday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. to share findings from the first phase of a feasibility study to connect Fall River and New Bedford with pathways through Westport and Dartmouth.
One of the best ways to decide where a path should go is to ask — so the alliance is requesting residents and friends to give their opinions on potential routes.
Comments and suggestions will be combined with current data, mapping, drone photos, and other information to pick the best possible route for a bicycling and walking path linking Fall River to New Bedford and beyond.
The first part of the Closing the Gap Feasibility Study was commissioned in 2020, and was conducted by the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District.
Funding for the study came from the Community Preservation Commissions of Westport, Dartmouth and New Bedford along with capital raised by bikeway alliance supporters.
