Registration for the 36th Annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai on Oct. 6 is open.

Funds raised from the walk support all forms of adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The Jimmy Fund Walk has raised more than $176 million for Dana-Farber in its 35-year history. Last year, it raised $9.4 million , according to the Jimmy Fund.

The finish line location is at the Boston Common and there will be four distances: A 5K from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Longwood Medical Campus; a 10K walk from Newton; a half marathon from Wellesley and a Marathon Walk from Hopkinton.

Whichever route walkers choose, participants will be welcome to refueling stations with refreshments throughout the course. Poster-sized photographs of patients – Jimmy Fund Walk Heroes – will be displayed along the course. Walkers may also participate virtually.

Participants can register as individual walkers, team members or start their own team. People may also register to volunteer to serve snacks and distribute T-shirts at the four start locations along the course and at the finish line.
