The Dartmouth YMCA’s Sharing the Harvest community farm is forming a team for Project Bread’s annual Walk for Hunger in South Dartmouth on Sunday, May 1.

Proceeds raised on the three-mile walk will benefit both Project Bread and Sharing the Harvest in their mission to reduce hunger and provide everyone with access to nutritious foods.

According to Project Bread, one in six households across the Commonwealth is facing hunger right now.

Registration for the walk will start at 8:30 a.m. May 1. Once sign ups are finalized, the walk will begin at Appponagansett Park. Along the route, the team will cross the Padanaram Bridge and go through the village.

Following the walk, join Sharing the Harvest Farm Director, Ashley Brister, for refreshments and tours of the farm and greenhouse at the Dartmouth YMCA located at 276 Gulf Road.

Anyone who wants to participate can register to join the team and walk or donate to help them reach their fundraising goal of $20,000.
