Wednesday bird walks at the Lloyd Center

Feb 24, 2021

This walk is for the birds, literally.

Starting this week, the Lloyd Center for the Environment will host weekly bird walks along its property.

Lead by Lloyd Center Research Associate Jamie Bogart, the walks will focus on birds and their activities. Along local bird knowledge, participants will also learn about other wildlife potentially encountered, local habitats, seasonal ecological processes impacting habitats and wildlife behavior, and landmarks that offer perspective on past human use of the landscape.

To end the walks, attendees will also meet Koko, the Center’s Eastern Screech Owl — a common, but secretive night owl.

Walks will take place every Wednesday from from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The event is free for Lloyd Center members and $5 for non-members.

Pre-registration is required by 3 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to each Wednesday walk. Space is limited to 15, so participants are encouraged to register early.
