A Westport woman has been taken to hospital after receiving non-life-threatening injuries in a crash early on Wednesday morning on State Road in Dartmouth, according to Dartmouth police.

At around 5:30 a.m. on March 18, Dartmouth police and other emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident near 559 State Road.

First responders confirmed upon arrival that a 2005 Subaru had struck a utility pole and rolled over, trapping the 62-year-old driver inside.

Police temporarily closed State Road due to downed wires.

After emergency personnel extricated the driver from the vehicle, she was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is still currently under investigation.
