Winter weather hits Dartmouth
Heavy snowfall has arrived in Dartmouth. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning, which will be in effect until Sunday night.
Below is an update of what's happening around town on account of the weather.
Parking ban:
Currently, there is a parking ban in effect around town. The ban became effective Saturday at noon and will continue until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24.
There is to be no parking on the hydrant side of the streets. If there isn’t a hydrant on the street, the Department of Public Works asks that you park on the side of the street that has even house numbers.
Cancellations:
The Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society has announced that its guest speaker, originally scheduled for Sunday night, has been canceled. The talk, presented by historian Bob Maker, has been rescheduled to Sunday, Jan. 31at 6:30 p.m. at the Russells Mills Schoolhouse. For more information, send an email to info@DartmouthHAS.org
Dreamfar, Dartmouth High's marathon running group, had planned to run a 10k tomorrow morning in Sharon. The group had also called for participants from the community to run along with them. However, event organizers have confirmed that the Dreamfar 10k has been canceled at the request of the Town of Sharon.
