Police advisory to present updated building plan, Feb. 6

Feb 2, 2017

The Police Chief’s Advisory Group will present updated plans for new police headquarters at the February 6 Select Board meeting.

The 21,500 square foot, two-story facility will replace the existing Gidley School on Tucker Road. Voters approved the school's demolition and funding to conduct a study and initial designs of the new station at the October Town Meeting.

The current police headquarters at 249 Russells Mills Road were closed in 2014 after bacteria in the hot water supply made an officer sick. Since then, town voters rejected a proposal to renovate the existing building, jumpstarting a new proposal. Updates will be detailed at the next meeting.
