Dartmouth Middle students volunteer time, talents

Instead of beelining home following a half day of classes on March 8, a group of Dartmouth Middle School students headed to the Dartmouth Council on Aging to showcase their talents for a senior audience.

The middle school’s National Honor Society students featured singing and karaoke during its afternoon talent show. Afterward, students socialized with CoA regulars and staff.

"It's really nice of them to come in on their half day when they could be doing other things," said Activity Coordinator Nancy Miller. She said this was the group’s first time volunteering at the CoA.

Honor Society members must complete 10 hours of community service each year, said Advisor Laura Gardner. Typical activities include town and beach cleanups, and volunteering at Gifts to Give.
