William F. Rapoza, 80

William F. Rapoza, 80, of South Dartmouth, died on October 5, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness.

He was the husband of Cecilia P. (Medeiros) Rapoza, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage and son of the late Manuel and Mary (Cabral) Rapoza.

Born in New Bedford, he resided in Dartmouth for 21 years. Rapoza was employed as an electrician for Mass Electric and was a member of the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers for 55 years until his retirement.

He taught in the Apprenticeship Electrical Program. Rapoza served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for eight years.

An avid golfer, he was a volunteer with the 9-18 Golf Club, teaching the game to area youth. He and his wife were members of the former St. John's Couple's Club and also enjoyed traveling.

His family includes his wife; his son Paul W. Rapoza and his wife, Rosemary of Somerset; his daughter, Pamela A. Baptiste and her husband, Joseph, of Dartmouth; four grandchildren, Brittany Lynch and her husband, Brian, Brandon Baptiste, Brianna Rapoza and Cameron Rapoza; one niece, Karen Fowle and two nephews, Kenny Rapoza and John David Rapoza. He was the brother of the late Manuel and John Rapoza.
