The Southworth Library will host a winter baking competition on December 16.

The competition is open to kids and teens age 10-16. The top two bakers in each of two divisions based on age will win a prize.

Other than a requirement that the dessert must include a holiday or winter theme and must be baked, competitors are free to bake whatever they wish for the competition.

Judging will occur on December 16. Baked goods are to be dropped off between 12:30 and 1 p.m. and will be on display from 1-3 p.m. at the library. Judging will be in three categories: taste, presentation, and overall theme and festiveness.

Those interested in participating must fill out and submit an entry form electronically or on paper by December 9 at 9 p.m. Paper forms can be obtained at the Southworth Library Children’s Desk and online entries are available on the library website.
