David J. O'Leary, 71

David Julian O'Leary, 71, passed away on December 13, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Sara B. (Frolio) O'Leary, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage.

Born in Greenville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Julian P. O'Leary and June (Power) O'Leary.

David was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He served in the United States Coast Guard for two tours during the Vietnam War.

After college David moved back to Massachusetts to work in his family's business, Lambeth Rope Company where he worked his way up from salesman to President.

Upon retirement he could be found playing golf at the Country Club of New Bedford, fishing on the Slocum River, and spending time with family and his chocolate Labrador Retrievers.

Survivors in addition to his wife are his daughter Molly Armando and her husband, John, of Dartmouth; his sister, Katharine Monahan, of Jamesville, GA; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Elisabeth O. Gray and Judith Ross.

Burial was private.
