Daniel E. Brito, 82, of New Bedford, formerly of Chase Road in Dartmouth, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017. He was the former husband of the late Barbara (Bono) Brito and Beverly (Silveira) Brito.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late John E. and Mary (Raymond) Brito, he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was an avid golfer at the Whaling City Country Club. He was formerly employed as a meat cutter for 42 years and then as a courier for Hawthorn Medical Associates.

Survivors include his son, Darryl E. Brito of Sagamore; his daughter, Darci E. Kendall and her husband, Alan, of New Bedford; a sister, Nancy Kitchen and her husband, Larry, of North Dartmouth; and six grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Raymond and George Brito and Anita Rapoza.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3 at 10 a.m. at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
