Blue Mass service, February 11

Jan 22, 2018

St Peter's Episcopal Church will hold a special "Blue Mass" service on February 11, 10:30 a.m. at its 351 Elm Street church.

The special service's name references its subject - the color of the uniforms usually worn by police officers and firefighters.

A Blue Mass is a liturgical ceremony in which police, fire, and first responder personnel and their families gather for a special celebration and blessing for their work on behalf of the community.

The service will serve as a special prayer for the safety of all police, firefighters, and EMS first responders.

All members of the community are invited to attend to show their support and appreciation for their work. Police, fire, and EMS members from all South Coast departments and private EMS agencies are also welcome to attend. The service is open to all, regardless of current religious denomination or background.
