Sidney H. Kaplan, 94, passed away on March 30, 2018.

He was born in New Bedford, son of the late Nathan and Ethel (Long) Kaplan.

He began his career as a cattle dealer with his dad, and transitioned into real estate. He was a member of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors, past chairman of the Dartmouth Finance Committee, a corporator of the New Bedford Institution for Savings, and a member of the Masons.

Sidney also served on the board of directors of the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kaplan; children Andrew Kaplan and his partner Danielle Jackson of Kittery, ME and Peter Kaplan and his wife Kate of Concord, MA; grandchildren Sophia and Elise Kaplan; sister Charlotte Salon of Dartmouth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He had an impact on many people in the community. Sidney was both beloved father to two, and father figure to Many.

Burial was in Plainville Cemetery, New Bedford, MA.
