Lloyd Center annual meeting, April 26

Apr 10, 2018

The Lloyd Center for the Environment will host its annual meeting at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational-Technical High School on April 26, beginning with a welcoming reception at 6 p.m.

The annual meeting will include a presentation on the construction of the center’s welcome center, which is being developed with Living Building Challenge certification. It is one of the building industry’s most sustainable construction performance standards.

The meeting will also include the presentation of the George G. Haydock Award to Dr. Victor Mailey. It is awarded to a person selected by the staff and board of the Lloyd Center to someone who has been deemed to have personally made an outstanding contribution to protecting the fragile nature of the region’s coastal environment.

Victor Mailey is a retired general practitioner of family medicine in New Bedford. Dr. Mailey is a strong advocate of environmental education for inner city children in New Bedford, and has been a long-time active supporter of the Lloyd Center and Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust.
