Beach sticker sales to begin May 7

May 2, 2018

Dartmouth residents will be able to begin purchasing their beach stickers on May 7. Stickers will be available 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Park Department office Mondays-Fridays beginning on that day.

Those looking to purchase stickers must bring their vehicle registration. Stickers are $35 for residents, $25 for residents ages 65 and older and free for disabled veterans.

In order to receive the senior registration, the vehicle registration must be listed to the senior.

Stickers can also be obtained by property or business owners and seasonal renters. Stickers for seasonal renters are $100 per week, non-resident property owners are $35 per year, non-resident senior property owners are $25 per year, and business property owners are $35 per year.

Beach stickers allow parking at several beaches and park facilities in Dartmouth. Beaches include Apponagansett Park, located at 77 Gulf Road, Jones Park, located at 66 St. John Street, and Round Hill Town Beach, located at 231 Smith Neck Road.

Other facilities include Dartmouth Regional Parks and Trails, located at 443 Old Fall River Road. The site includes sports fields and courts, and walking trails.

Day passes will also be available. Round Hill day passes are $15, are only issued to residents, and only valid Mondays-Fridays excluding holidays. Jones Park and Apponagansett Park day passes are $10.

This year, people getting stickers will also get a letter about the clean up efforts at Round Hill Beach after a complaint was received by the board regarding machinery raking at the beach.

With the start of summer approaching, The Bucket at Apponagansett Park also has a set time and date for its opening. The ice cream and food stand located on the property will open at May 26 at noon.
