Man arrested for allegedly 'upskirting' woman

Dartmouth Police have arrested a Westport man for allegedly “upskirting” a woman.

Craig Tavares, 30, was charged with allegedly taking photographs or video under a female patrons skirt at the Walmart on State Road. The arrest follows a report that a man was inside the store attempting to photograph or record under a woman's skirt.

It is not the first time an instance of upskirting has been reported in Dartmouth. Last year, a Westport town official and banker faced several charges relating to alleged upskirting incidents at the Dartmouth Citizens Bank.

It was alleged that William D. Raus, 55, had attempted to record up the skirts of a bank employee and a customer.
