YMCA summer sessions starting soon

The Dartmouth YMCA has announced its summer programs will be starting June 25 and will continue until August 19.

Both members and non-members are able to register for various programs and classes.

The YMCA offers preschool and youth family programs in martial arts, bully prevention, rock climbing, archery, a child watch program, and adaptive swim lessons.

Summer swim lessons are offered beginning at preschool to children ages 6 and older. Topics and education levels vary by program, age, and session. Programs offered include lessons in water acclimation, exploration, movement, stamina, strokes, discovery, and more advanced stroke mechanics.

Wellness programs include a cardio kickboxing and self defense program for ages 18 above, a 12-month diabetes prevention program, group exercise classes, group outings and camping events, a 12-week LIVESTRONG program, personal training, small group training, sport specific training, team building adventure courses.

There are also several special events throughout the summer. A family adventure night will be held July 19 at 5:30 p.m. Activities will include a climbing tower, giants ladder, and some high and low ropes elements.

A Flick N' Float pool showing of the film Moana is July 24 at 8 p.m. A second pool film showing is scheduled for August 16 at 8:30 p.m. featuring Coco.

A family trivia night is on July 30 at 5 p.m. Family Nerf night is August 7 at 6 p.m. A family camp out will be held overnight from July 13-14. The YMCA's annual Farm to Table Dinner is July 21 from 6-10 p.m
