Wareham CORE was honored to partner with students from the new American Sign Language (ASL) program at Wareham High School to create a special thank you video in front of the ASL communication board at Lopes Playground.
The communication board was made possible through a Change Maker Grant from United Way and helps create a more inclusive playground where deaf and hearing children can learn, communicate, and play together.
A special thank you to ASL instructor Lisa Olman, Meagan Kashner, and the students who shared their talents and enthusiasm for this project. With 20 students currently enrolled and additional classes planned next year, the ASL program is already making a positive impact in our community.
