‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ online

Dec 1, 2020

Now that the holiday season is officially upon us, the Dartmouth High Theater Company is looking to spread the festivities with a virtual production of the classic show “It’s a Wonderful Life — A Live Radio Show.”

Set on Christmas Eve in 1947, the student thespians will tell the story of George Bailey and the townspeople of Bedford Falls from their homes in the style of a radio show — complete with 1940s-style commercial jingles.

The cast is presenting three shows this month on Dec. 11 and 18 at 7 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee stream on Dec. 13.

Due to the pandemic, the shows will be streamed online.

“2020 has been a trying year that’s for sure,” co-director, Denis Lawrence, Jr. said in a statement. “The DHTC kids have taken a tough situation and turned it into a creative opportunity and Shirley and I couldn’t be more proud!
