The Center for Animal Rescue & Education (CARE) will host a 5K run and walk on Sunday, April 9 at 9 a.m.

The third annual run begins at Buttonwood Park Warming House (1 Oneida Street, New Bedford), runs through Dartmouth, and finishes back at the park

Online registration is open through April 7 at noon at www.caresouthcoast.com. Pre-registration up until race day is $25. All pre-registered runners are guaranteed a t-shirt.

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. on race day, and is $30.

All dogs to register get a commemorative charm. No retractable leashes will be allowed in this year's race.

Cash prises for the top male and female overall runners are $100, $75, and $50.
