Albert W. Gibeault, 82

Albert W. Gibeault, who lived a full life of 82 years, of Dartmouth passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 in St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Lorraine I. (Levesque) Gibeault. After six years, one month, and seven days they are back together enjoying their love for each other.

Born in New Bedford, a son the of the late Wilfred and Elsie (Oliveira) Gibeault he was a proud U.S. Marine for six years. During that time, he was certified by the US Naval Amphibians School for Shore Fire Control.

Mr. Gibeault worked at Alden Corrugated for 21 years. He also worked at Stone Container Corporation for eight years as well as working at Acushnet Company in the rubber division. His proudest work was when he drove school buses for Laidlaw Bus Company for many years. Albert was very proud that he managed to get students to and home from school safely every day. It was a job he had a lot of pride and passion for the safety of the children on his bus.

Albert was very proud of “His” little piece of Mother Earth that he and his beloved wife of 53 years called home. Many will also recall Mr. Gibeault for his behind the plate umpiring days at Crapo Field with DYAA.

He and Lorraine were members of the Dartmouth Council on Aging for many years. Albert will also be missed by the three card group friends that he attended three times a week.

He is survived by his sons, Steven A. Gibeault of CO, Brian S. Gibeault and his wife Constance of Fairhaven, and Michael T. Gibeault and his wife Allison of WA; his loving sisters, Susan, Betty Lou, Barbara, and Linda; his brother, Arnold; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 9:00-11:00 am with a Funeral Service at 11:00 am in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery, 507 Elm St., Dartmouth.
