Applebee’s employee honored for saving man’s life

Feb 1, 2019

The Dartmouth Applebee’s staff honored one of their own: Server Ruben Botelho, who is credited with saving a man’s life on the job.

On Jan. 23, Botelho noted a man eating his meal in the restaurant had stopped breathing. He realized the man was choking, and performed the Heimlich Maneuver on the man, saving his life.

As a thank you, Botelho was presented with Life Savers candy, Visa gift certificates, and more by his co-workers and Apple American Group, which owns and operates the North Dartmouth Applebee’s.
