The Town of Dartmouth will offer financial assistance again this winter for heating payments. Qualified households are eligible to receive up to $300 in direct payments to their home heating provider. 

The application will open on Oct. 18, and the review process will start on November 1, 2023.  Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the funding is depleted.

The application will  be available through the Town’s online platform at https://dartmouthma.portal.opengov.com/categories/1086. 

While the program is currently funded through the state attorney general’s energy assistance grant program, member Shawn McDonald expressed at the Oct. 16 Select Board meeting that he’d like to set up a fund for the fuel assistance program for when grant money is no longer available. Town Administrator Shawn MacInnes said the town could look further into the option. 

To qualify, applicants must have a household income less than 80 percent of the State's median income. Assistance will be awarded based on household income, size, and exhibited need.
