Author Tiffany Jewell will highlight the inequities students of color face in preK-12 while presenting her book as part of an online series hosted by the Dartmouth Public Library on Thursday, June 20th at 2 p.m.
Her book, “Everything I Learned About Racism I Learned in School,” focuses on the experiences students of color face as a direct result of racism built into schools across the United States. Throughout the book, other writers of the global majority share a variety of personal narratives and stories based on their own school experiences.
Jewell is the #1 New York Times Best-Selling author of “This Book is Anti-Racist” and “The Anti-Racist Kid: A Book about Identity, Justice, and Activism.”
Outside of writing, Jewell has worked as a Montessori educator for 15 years and served as the president of the founding board of the national organization, Montessori for Social Justice. She also co-founded alongside Britt Hawthorne, ABARatSchool, an organization with the mission to support educators and caregivers in their anti-bias and anti-racist journeys.
