Battleship Harley event can go ahead

Oct 17, 2022

An outdoor event at Battleship Harley will be allowed to go on.

The event was recently put in jeopardy, as the Select Board decided to review whether the business should receive a one-day license for serving alcohol following complaints surrounding noise and safety.

During its Oct. 17 meeting, the owners of the motorcycle dealership updated the board on the status of several action items they agreed to take to address the complaints.

Should the business not come up with a satisfactory plan, Select Board Chair David Tatelbaum said at the previous meeting that the license will be pulled for the event.

According to Town Administrator Shawn MacInnes, the Route 6 business and police have “come to an agreement” for the event, which is scheduled for Oct. 22.

As part of the plan, Select Board member Heidi Brooks noted, there will be police officers on site to ensure things go smoothly.

“This will be their last chance,” said Vice Chair Stanley Mickelson, who has been outraged over the recent complaints.
