Bishop Stang High School has hired one of their own to head the high school field hockey team: Kara LeBlanc Caron.

The 1992 graduate first discovered her passion for the sport in 1988 when she first entered Bishop Stang. She was already an avid basketball player, but decided to focus on field hockey upon graduating.

She played field hockey at Simmons College, and served as team captain in 1993, 1994, and 1995. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, and a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Health Promotion, and has worked in the nutrition field for most of her professional career.

“I am thrilled to return to the Stang community,” Caron said in a press release. “It is where I started my field hockey experience, and I look forward to giving back to the girls. I am excited to instill a sense of family that will bring success, on and off the field, for years to come.”

Coaching is nothing new to Caron either. She has coached middle school field hockey in Dartmouth for four years, and noted in a press release she is excited to escalate her coaching career to the high school level.

She hopes to focus on improving players’ abilities by combining crossfit-style strength and conditioning programs with her expertise in nutrition.
