Bishop Stang High School has announced that Dr. Jana McHenry will be the next Director of Advancement.

McHenry worked for Dartmouth Public Schools as Assistant Superintendent for about three years. She resigned in the spring of 2014. Her responsibilities included raising funds for special projects and serving as an ambassador to the local community.

She also served as Title 1 Director and Reading Specialist for Dartmouth Public Schools.

She started her career as a Teacher and Reading Specialist at Saint Jean Baptiste School in the Diocese of Fall River. McHenry earned her Bachelor of Science from Salve Regina, her Master of Education from Lesley University and her Doctorate of Education from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.

McHenry, and her husband, Michael, both Fall River natives, currently reside in Dartmouth and are the parents of two children.

“Dr. McHenry will bring her considerable skill set and leadership experience as a student-centered educator and business owner to lead our school’s advancement team,” said Peter Shaughnessy, Principal of Bishop Stang High School.
