Bishop Stang receives $25,000 grant for science renovations
Bishop Stang High School recently received a $25,000 grant to renovate its science labs and strengthen its STEM focus.
The Bristol County Savings Bank awarded the school monies from its Charitable Foundation to help fund new equipment, furnishings, and technology for the school’s chemistry, biology, and physics laboratories.
The school’s goal is to give students a strong foundation in science, technology, engineering, and math by providing state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. The facility will be used by 100 percent of Bishop Stang students, said school officials.
“It is an honor to have such a strong partnership with Bristol County Savings Bank, and we are truly appreciative for their support of our Science Lab Project,” said Bishop Stang Principal Peter Shaughnessy in a press release.
School officials will receive the grant in two disbursements — $12,500 each year.
