A Dartmouth resident and member of the Bishop Stang Guidance Department has been honored with this year’s Frederick Douglass Service Award from Nativity Preparatory School in New Bedford.

Nancy Wood was recently recognized with the award, which is meant to honor individuals who have gone above and beyond to support the efforts of Nativity Prep in its mission to see graduates move on to becoming outstanding, contributing leaders in society.

"Once our graduates leave our doors to embark on a new life adventure at various high schools, the Office of Alumni Support needs the help of a network of individuals, who share our mission, to insure that our alumni will continue on the road to success that began at Nativity," said Nativity Prep Director of Alumni Support Suzanne Phillips. "As the Nativity connection in the Bishop Stang Guidance Office, you have made the work of the Nativity Alumni Office so manageable regarding our alumni attending your school."
