Buzzards Bay Coalition to host four-week walkabout series
The Buzzards Bay Coalition will host free, weekly walks where participants can learn about nature and ecology at area parks, trails, and forests.
The four-week series — hosted every Wednesday, 10-11 a.m. — will start on May 3, with a wetlands tour along Nonquitt Marsh at Smith Farm, located at 355 Smith Neck Road.
On May 10, participants will discover vernal pools and wildlife at New Bedford’s Flora B. Peirce Nature Trail, located on Falmouth Street. On May 17, guests will hike boardwalks along at the Frank Knowles/Little River Reserve, located at 637 Potomska Road. On May 24, walkers will explore habitats that lie beyond the daffodil field at Parsons Reserve, located at 33 Horseneck Road.
All ages and fitness levels are welcome. Attendance at all four walks is not required. To RSVP, visit www.savebuzzardsbay.org/events, or contact the Buzzards Bay Coalition at (508) 999-6363, ext. 219.
