A two-vehicle car crash resulted in serious injuries Tuesday evening.

The crash involved Maria Almeida, a 73-year-old woman from New Bedford, and Iska Skormo, a 41-year-old woman from Dartmouth, according to Detective Kyle Costa.

Emergency services responded to an accident in the area of 151 Chase Road around 6:00 p.m. Almeida was driving a 2003 Toyota Corolla and Skormo was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox.

As a result of the crash, Almeida was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries, Costa said.

The crash is under investigation by the Dartmouth Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.
