Carleatha "Pat" Nichols, 61, of New Bedford, died peacefully on December 12 2019. She was the daughter of Olive (Houtman) Smith and the late David Smith.

Pat lived in New Bedford and North Dartmouth most of her life. She was a history teacher at Roosevelt Middle School and had taught several years at Keith Middle School. 

She truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren friends and family. She spent much her time off sewing and teaching crafts and jewelry over the summer.

Her family includes her mother Olive; her sisters Juanita Texeira, Linda Kemp and Nadine Kemp; her sons Duane Hernandez, Sr., Brandon Nichols, and the late Ross Hernandez and the father of her children Otis L. Nichols, Jr.; her grandchildren, Duane Hernandez, Jr., Lela Hernandez, and Braelyn Nichols. She was the aunt of Tauri and Ray Texeira.

Burial was in Rural Cemetery.
