Census forms mailed to Dartmouth households
The Town of Dartmouth’s annual census forms have been mailed to all Dartmouth households, and Town Clerk Lynn Medeiros asks that all residents complete the census in a timely fashion.
Medeiros said up-to-date census data is important because it determines the amount of state funding the town is eligible for, provides townspeople proof of residency, and is used for tallying the population.
Failure to complete the census could cause issues at the voting polls, as residents could be placed on an “inactive” list and must complete additional paperwork.
Medeiros said those living away from home temporarily but still using their Dartmouth address as their legal residence – such as military members and college students – should still be included in the town census.
Residents have 10 days after receiving the census form to either mail it or return it to Town Hall. Applications for dog licenses were also mailed with the census form, and are due by March 1.
