Cross country outruns New Bedford High
The Dartmouth High boys and girls cross country teams took home wins against New Bedford High on October 3.
The boys finished their 3.1-mile run at Brooklawn Park in New Bedford with 15 points over New Bedford’s 48 points. The top finisher was Ben Rioux, with a time of 17:37. Just a few seconds later came Noah Derrick with 17:42. Dawson Polochick finished at 18:15, Kam Oullet finished with 18:45, and Jason Gin rounded out the top five with a time of 18:55.
The win improves the boys’ record to 4-0 overall.
The girls took home a win with 19 points compared to the Whalers’ 40-point finish. Phoebe Cousens finished in first place with a time of 22:11. Emma Sousa followed with a time of 22:21. In fourth place was Madison Borowicz with a time of 22:52. Cassidy Leary finished with 23:56 on the clock, and Mia Clark finished in sixth place at 24:02.
With the win, the Indians now stand at a 3-1 overall record.
Both teams will have the week off, with the next game scheduled for October 11 – a league meet against Old Colony League rival Barnstable.
