A Fairhaven man was killed in a single car crash on Cross Road in Dartmouth in the early hours of Saturday morning, according to the Dartmouth Police Department.

David Costa, Jr., 23, of Fairhaven died from his injuries following an accident near 373 Cross Road at around 2:09 a.m. on February 8.

Police arrived on the scene to find a 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan had struck both a utility pole and stone wall.

According to the police statement, Costa was extracted from the car and transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, where he died a short time later.

The Dartmouth Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the crash with help from Dartmouth and Massachusetts State Police detectives.
