Cultural Center announces top paintings from acrylics exhibition

Apr 25, 2021

This is the past week marked the end of the Abstract Acrylic exhibition at the Dartmouth Cultural Center and jurors William and Jeanne Kendall have announced their selections on the top displays.

The exhibition’s first place honor goes to Lisa Busnengo — with 2nd place going to Beth Russo and 3rd place to Theresa Manning.

First started in 2018, the abstract acrylic painting class is the longest running class offered by the Cultural Center and draws inspiration from artists such as Helen Frankenthaler, Richard Diebenkorn, Lee Krasner, and Sam Francis.

Among the works displayed included simplistic landscapes, psychedelic-colored canvases, and even a dress made out of paint rags.
