Dartmouth Blowout to happen on August 13

Aug 3, 2016

The Blowout—a Dartmouth tradition since 1977—will be held on August 13 this year. The event runs from noon until 10 p.m. at the Horseneck Holy Ghost Grounds on Allen Neck Road.

Tickets are $35 and are available at CV Liquors (550 Russells Mills Road), at the Portuguese American Club (26 Columbus Street), and at the Westport Social Club (904 Main Road, Westport).

Each year, the Blowout serves as a fundraiser for a local cause. This year, it will help support two Dartmouth families. Lifelong Dartmouth resident and District No. 1 firefighter Ryan Ferriera, 31, passed unexpectedly earlier this year and leaves behind his young daughter, Isabella.

Twenty-two-year-old DJ Bishop had a tragic accident in May that led to paralyzation. He is currently receiving physical therapy at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston. The Bishop family is faced with the uncertainty of DJ's rehabilitation needs and future medical expenses.
