Dartmouth Boy Scout Troop 74 to hold recruitment night open house

Sep 16, 2022

Dartmouth Boy Scout Troop 74 will hold an open house from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the Smith Mills Church on Anderson Way to give families interested in the program a chance to learn more about it.

The event will feature activities like BB gun shooting and will be attended by the program’s adult leaders and current scouts who will be available to talk to parents about the scouts.

Some highlights of the activities involved in the scouting program include: overnight tent camping, swimming, rock climbing, archery, white-water rafting, and a trip to Six Flags.

Scouts will also learn outdoor and interpersonal skills, responsibility, and the core values of the program.

If you cannot make it to Smith Mills on Sept. 27, interested parties are invited to stop by any Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and talk with the scout leaders.

If you would just like to take it slow, you can contact Douglas D’Atri at (508) 965-7625 or at dddatri@yahoo.com and start with a conversation.

More information is also available at Beascout.org or www.narragansettbsa.org.

Girls interested in participating in the scouts are encouraged to reach out to Troop 2019 in Westport through Facebook or by contacting Diane Cloutier at (508) 423-0462 or by email at diane.cloutier@scouting.org.
